Coming back to a country I never lived in

I’m Polish, raised in Sweden, and I moved to Kraków at twenty-nine to build a family in a city where I didn’t know a single person. I arrived speaking the language like a child and I’ve been rebuilding it since, one government spreadsheet at a time. In the three years since I landed, I’ve gotten married and had my first child.

Before Poland I spent six years in Cambodia, co-founding a startup that grew to sixteen people and working on core banking infrastructure. That’s the kind of work where you learn how regulators and bureaucracies actually fit together, not in theory but in the small print. Poland is the third country I’m learning from the inside, and the first one I have a personal stake in.

That stake is why this blog exists. I want a lot of kids. I want to homeschool them. I want to build a community of families in Poland doing the same. So I’m learning the country in public, from home education law to property and taxes, and writing down what I find along the way.
